The team was created with the view of giving all the Ex-Sporting Bengal UTD FC  players the opportunity to get together and re-live past glories. The Sporting Bengal Legends compete in the London FA Vets Cup every year. The golden oldies have also travelled to Nottingham, where they won the Nottingham Vets Cup & more recently played in the Dublin International Cup where they came so close only to lose in the final on penalties to Ireland.
